A few of our Testimonials
So good … We had to go again!! We’d heard great things about this popular seaside diner – but every time we walked past it was busy – this time (on a busy Bank Holiday weekend) we managed to squeeze (literally) a table for 6 – it was worth the wait for great/fast service, monster portions of well cooked/presented food at a fair price – after 2 courses (main and pud) with a couple of drinks each, we all felt extremely well catered for and stuffed, needing the walk along the beach to burn it off!! ….. went back on the Tuesday after the BH when it was a bit quieter and sat straight down to some more great nosh (just different dishes!!!) – can’t recommend this place high enough ….. But now worried that we won’t get in next time !!!
Great place for really excellent food at a very reasonable price. This place is a real gem and has very friendly staff. Definitely recommend the crab starter, steak pie, matured steak, tomato and basil soup, treacle sponge and lemon meringue. Enjoy.
Quick Pleasant Service
The Boulevard has had a makeover but it’s still run by the same friendly people. East Wittering on a cold March day can be definitely bleak but open the door into this bright and welcoming place and life looks better! A wide selection of meals on the menu and daily specials will give even the pickiest person plenty to choose from. But it’s the quality and the quantity of the food that set the Boulevard way above anything for miles around. Fresh vegetables, good quality meat and all cooked just right. However the thing that absolutely clinches it, are the prices. Quite how these are kept so low remains a mystery but maybe most other eating places are just greedy with their profit margins!
The best fillet steak Fantastic service. The best fillet “melted in the mouth.” All round favourite and a must when eating in the village. Seriously good food and value for money.
Great English Seaside Eating (and sometimes that’s all you want) I have been visiting Wittering for over 30 years now and The Boulevard seems to have always been there. I don’t holiday there any more but occasionally will take a trip down with friends on the bikes for breakfast. It is always reliable, good portions and served with a pleasant smile. The breakfasts aren’t pretentious, no artichokes, rocket or ostrich eggs, just real plain tasty food. We were with another couple and the total bill was £43 for breakfast, numerous coffees and two hours of catching up with old friends in the sunshine. There is a car park in Marine Drive just a few minutes walk away.
Extensive menu with substantial portions and reasonably priced. It says a lot about a restaurant when others on the same street are deserted and this one is heaving with customers. Friendly service, and the food has a real home-cooked feel about it. I would just say that the veggies could do with a little more flavouring – but I suppose you could just add salt at the table. We visited a couple of times last September while on holiday and now, returned in June and it definitely lived up to expectations. Ignore the odd reviewer who leaves negative comments but has only ever left 1 or 2 reviews in their TripAdvisor life 😉 Listen to the regulars!
A perfect British seaside find…
The Boulevard was a hive of activity every time we walked past attracting a wide range of ages. There was a great community feel to the place and friendly staff were serving. The food was good quality and great value for money – best fish finger sandwich I have had in a long time! A perfect place for a warming hearty meal after the blustery coast.
What a find While on a weekend break with my family we was looking for place to eat and stumbled upon this gem if you are staying at scotts farm or East Wittering like we was you have to visit this place. Top marks for service and child friendly children’s cutlery and lids on children’s drinks what a great idea its the little things like that go a long way to happy kids and parents . Food was fantastic I can without a doubt say it was the best steak and kidney pie I have had in my life and there was plenty of meat inside the pie. My wife and kids meals all equally as amazing. Decent fish fingers and good kids portion of cod the kids were in heaven. To add to this they even sell london pride. We really wanted to stay for pudding as they looked fantastic seeing others being taken to tables but the kids were being kids. Even when the bill came there was a treat. This is probably one of the best places to eat i have been in a long time. The atmosphere was fantastic it was buzzing always a good sign and the staff were a1. Great for families very reasonably priced and the service was top. They even do take aways. Thank you Boulevard we will be back.
Excellent value for money
We stumbled across this place as we were looking for somewhere to have fish and chips. It was apparent the place was very busy but we took a seat in the sunny outside area anyway. We ordered via table service and we were all very surprised when the drinks and food were delivered to us very quickly. I had a long wait in mind and a hungry 4yr old so I was very relieved to receive the food so quickly. We all had fish and chips which at first I thought was a little pricey but once again when it arrived I was very pleased. The fish was very tasty, cooked perfectly and the chips were piping hot and not greasy. We all cleared our plates and were full. I would highly recommend, the menu had a great selection and from spying other peoples food it all looked very good. Happy eating!!
What a Find After a wonderful walk to West Wittering and back we were looking for a quick bite to eat and stumbled upon The Boulevard. We sat outside as it was such a beautiful day but the interior looked very inviting. We were surprised to find waitress service, expecting to have to order from the counter. The waitresses were very friendly and highly efficient and we were eating our sandwiches very quickly. What delicious sandwiches! The granary bread was melt in the mouth and obviously freshly baked. I had the most delicious fresh crab sandwich and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his ham one. If we had been hungrier the fish and chips looked very inviting. We will certainly come back next time we are in the area. Thank you, the Boulevard, for an excellent lunch.
